I must say it was one of those rare moments in life when you found a real pleasure, after I started I never stopped.

At first I admired the writing and the history that J.K. had written, but after I got to know her life story and so a began to admire her as a person more and more. A woman who had experienced all kind of problems and instead of just keep whining she shook up the dust and changed the curse of her life story with hard work and dedication.

By the way, here goes a hint, there is a movie of her life called Magic Beyond Word: The JK Rowling Story.

Sidney Sheldon

For those who do not know him, he is an American writer who writes novels and thriller, which those are fantastic.

His first book I ever met was Bloodline and the first one I have read this genre, and I must say I fell in love for suspense and adventure books, and because he frequently puts as main character a woman and this makes all sensational and exciting.

C. In the end the books teaches you that there will always be difficulties in life, but what makes the difference is the way that we chose to face our problems and we can make a difference in ourselves and in the world.

Jane Austin

Austin entered in a relatively quiet time of my life, but she taught me a lot about thoughts freedom and the many ways to express them. Especially that not everything is the way it is sold for us and that is worth take a risking for what we really want not letting us be persuaded by other person, beyond the fact that she had written her books among the XVIII and XIX centuries which is impressive for a woman of that time.

Stan Lee

I know this is cheating, because he is an author of comic books, but could not ignore the one who made me love superheroes especially the X-Men. But with one phone call that bliss is totally shot to shit. Don’t want to hear it. Don’t want to deal with it. But oh yeah, it’s coming for me. The motherfucking past. And who’s along for the ride? You’re never gonna believe it. That’s right, another blast from my past. The one and only rejection. Blondie. Hey…maybe it’s not all bad. Maybe I can finally get her - legs up and back to the mattress, that is. Lisa Yes, I’m getting married. And yes, it’s to ‘Buttons.’ I’m not embarrassed and I don’t think it’s a failure. Unfortunately, my bestie doesn’t agree. In fact, she thinks she has to rescue me. But ladies and gents, I’m beyond help. I’m cooked. I just want to fade into the Santa Barbara’s overly polished woodwork. Born with magical hands, Madge has the power to discern others’ suffering, but she cannot heal her own damaged heart. To mend herself and help those in need, she must return to Tennessee to face the women healers who rejected her as a child. Sadie can commune with the dead, but until she makes peace with her father, she, too, cannot fully engage her gift. Not only has her longtime lover abruptly dumped her, but her eccentric, demanding mother has recently died. When an urn of ashes arrives, along with a note reminding Che of a half-forgotten promise to take her mother to Canterbury, Che finds herself reluctantly undertaking a pilgrimage. Within days she joins a group of women who are walking the sixty miles from London to the shrine of Becket in Canterbury Cathedral, reputed to be the site of miracles. In the best Chaucer tradition, the women swap stories as they walk, each vying to see who can best describe true love. Che, who is a perfectionist and workaholic, loses her cell phone at the first stop and is forced to slow down and really notice the world around her, perhaps for the first time in years. Through her adventures along the trail, Che finds herself opening up to new possibilities in life and discovers that the miracles of Canterbury can take surprising forms.

1920: The Year that Made the Decade Roar

Written by Eric Burns

Published by Pegasus Books

"The Roaring Twenties” is the only decade in American history with a widely applied nickname, and our collective fascination with this era continues. But how did this surge of innovation and cultural milestones emerge out of the ashes of The Great War? No one has yet written a book about the decade’s beginning. Acclaimed author Eric Burns investigates the year of 1920, which was not only a crucial twelve-month period of its own, but one that foretold the future, foreshadowing the rest of the 20th century and the early years of the 21st, whether it was Sacco and Vanzetti or the stock market crash that brought this era to a close. Burns sets the record straight about this most misunderstood and iconic of periods. Despite being the first full year of armistice, 1920 was not, in fact, a peaceful time—it contained the greatest act of terrorism in American history to date. And while 1920 is thought of as starting a prosperous era, for most people, life had never been more unaffordable. Meanwhile, African Americans were putting their stamp on culture and though people today imagine the frivolous image of the flapper dancing the night away, the truth was that a new kind of power had been bestowed on women, and it had nothing to do with the dance floor...

Re Jane: A Novel

Written by Patricia Park

Published by Pamela Dorman Books

For Jane Re, half-Korean, half-American orphan, Flushing, Queens, is the place she’s been trying to escape from her whole life. Sardonic yet vulnerable, Jane toils, unappreciated, in her strict uncle’s grocery store and politely observes the traditional principle of nunchi (a combination of good manners, hierarchy, and obligation). Desperate for a new life, she’s thrilled to become the au pair for the Mazer-Farleys, two Brooklyn English professors and their adopted Chinese daughter. Inducted into the world of organic food co-ops, and nineteenth–century novels, Jane is the recipient of Beth Mazer’s feminist lectures and Ed Farley’s very male attention. But when a family death interrupts Jane and Ed’s blossoming affair, she flies off to Seoul, leaving New York far behind. Reconnecting with family, and struggling to learn the ways of modern-day Korea, Jane begins to wonder if Ed Farley is really the man for her. Jane returns to Queens, where she must find a balance between two cultures and accept who she really is.

Letters to the Lost

Written by Iona Grey

Published by Thomas Dunne Books

A beautifully written and evocative novel—the story of an impossible, unstoppable love affair set in London during World War II and the present day An accomplished novel from a talented writer, Letters to the Lost is the kind of love story that will sweep you away from the very first page. Iona Grey's prose is warm, evocative, and immediately engaging; her characters become so real you can't bear to let them go. Late on a frozen February evening, a young woman is running through the streets of London. Having fled from her abusive boyfriend and with nowhere to go, Jess stumbles onto a forgotten lane where a small, clearly unlived in old house offers her best chance of shelter for the night. The next morning, a mysterious letter arrives and when she can’t help but open it, she finds herself drawn inexorably into the story of two lovers from another time. In London 1942, Stella meets Dan, a US airman, quite by accident, but there is no denying the impossible, unstoppable love that draws them together. Dan is a B-17 pilot flying his bomber into Europe from a British airbase; his odds of survival at one in five. The odds are stacked against the pair; the one thing they hold onto is the letters they write to each other. Fate is unkind and they are separated by decades and continents. In the present, Jess becomes determined to find out what happened to them. Her hope—inspired by a love so powerful it spans a lifetime—will lead her to find a startling redemption in her own life in a powerfully moving novel perfect for fans of Sarah Jio and Kate Morton.

A School for Unusual Girls (Stranje House 01)

Written by Kathleen Baldwin

Published by Tor Teen

It’s 1814. After accidentally setting her father’s stables on fire while performing a scientific experiment, Miss Georgiana Fitzwilliam is sent to Stranje House. Sunday is Mother's Day, so I decided to write a review of one of the series that my mom likes, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Lewis.

As there are the book series and the movie series too I will give my opinion on which one is more worthwhile.

Let’s go to the plot ...

This book series of CS Lewis is very well wrotten and has a wonderful plot, containing a well structured characters and they progress throughout the history. It tells the story of Narnia world since its creation by Aslam, the adventures experienced by those who live in there until the last days of this universe.

The first book tells how the world of Narnia was created, as the White Witch (or Jadis)

got there and the first adventures of the first sons of Eve and Adam in that realm. It is only on the second book that the four Penvensie (Susana, Lucia, Peter and Edmund) brothers know Narnia and fight to save her from the clutches of the White Witch, this was the one that turned out on the first film of the series.

On each book you can see that as our world population the population of Narnia gradually is getting corrupted without weighing the lives taken and all the pain and suffering that are inflicting on others, which will make Aslam assume a radical decision, and is going to explain why Susana is no longer permitted to enter Narnia.

This series consists of seven books, and you must read in this sequence because it makes a big difference on your understanding of the Narnia universe, wherein three of those books does not treat about the Penvensie children but other characters that are part of the structures of that universe.

The Magician's NephewThe Lion, The Witch and The WardrobeThe Horse and His BoyPrince CaspianThe Voyage of the Dawn TreaderThe Silver ChairThe Last Battle

Is that Worth ????

Definitely yes, in fact this is my reaction when I speak of these books, only in the brunette version, kkkkkk ....

The reading is engaging and pleasurable, and bring a great comfort to those who are experiencing some tough times in life such as the lost of someone and bullying.

Something interesting to be added is the association that the author made of Aslam and God, many features are similar as in the book The Horse and His Boy which shows that even Shata (Boy) believing to be alone Aslam always has been caring and supporting him without revealing to him as the same happens to us living creatures of this world.

Although it was wrote for children those books captivate young people and adults of all ages. And I must say that the film did not leave anything to be desired, of course, it is an adaptation, but maintained the integrity of the story.

The books box or the box of the movies you choose to give someone the gifted one will fall in love for the history and will be flattered for the gift, but here comes a alert for the possibility that person disappear or get very distracted for a while.

Hugh Hugs

See you next friday

Wish List - Books Published on April

Hi guys!!!! Set in a rich, high-fantasy world with echoes of ancient Rome, it tells the story of a slave fighting for her family and a young soldier fighting for his freedom. Laia is a slave. Elias is a soldier. Neither is free. Under the Martial Empire, defiance is met with death. Those who do not vow their blood and bodies to the Emperor risk the execution of their loved ones and the destruction of all they hold dear. It is in this brutal world, inspired by ancient Rome, that Laia lives with her grandparents and older brother. The family ekes out an existence in the Empire’s impoverished backstreets. They do not challenge the Empire. They’ve seen what happens to those who do. But when Laia’s brother is arrested for treason, Laia is forced to make a decision. In exchange for help from rebels who promise to rescue her brother, she will risk her life to spy for them from within the Empire’s greatest military academy. There, Laia meets Elias, the school’s finest soldier—and secretly, its most unwilling. Elias wants only to be free of the tyranny he’s being trained to enforce. He and Laia will soon realize that their destinies are intertwined—and that their choices will change the fate of the Empire itself.

The Girl at Midnight

by Melissa Grey

Published April 28th 2015 by Delacorte Press

Beneath the streets of New York City live the Avicen, an ancient race of people with feathers for hair and magic running through their veins. Age-old enchantments keep them hidden from humans. All but one. Echo is a runaway pickpocket who survives by selling stolen treasures on the black market, and the Avicen are the only family she's ever known. Echo is clever and daring, and at times she can be brash, but above all else she's fiercely loyal. So when a centuries-old war crests on the borders of her home, she decides it's time to act. Legend has it that there is a way to end the conflict once and for all: find the Firebird, a mythical entity believed to possess power the likes of which the world has never seen. It will be no easy task, though if life as a thief has taught Echo anything, it's how to hunt down what she wants . . . and how to take it. But some jobs aren't as straightforward as they seem. And this one might just set the world on fire.

All the Rage

by Courtney Summers

Published April 14th 2015 by St. Martin's Griffin

The sheriff’s son, Kellan Turner, is not the golden boy everyone thinks he is, and Romy Grey knows that for a fact. Because no one wants to believe a girl from the wrong side of town, the truth about him has cost her everything—friends, family, and her community. Branded a liar and bullied relentlessly by a group of kids she used to hang out with, Romy’s only refuge is the diner where she works outside of town. No one knows her name or her past there; she can finally be anonymous. But when a girl with ties to both Romy and Kellan goes missing after a party, and news of him assaulting another girl in a town close by gets out, Romy must decide whether she wants to fight or carry the burden of knowing more girls could get hurt if she doesn’t speak up. Nobody believed her the first time—and they certainly won’t now — but the cost of her silence might be more than she can bear.　 With a shocking conclusion and writing that will absolutely knock you out,All the Rage examines the shame and silence inflicted upon young women after an act of sexual violence, forcing us to ask ourselves: In a culture that refuses to protect its young girls, how can they survive?

Asa

by Jay Crownover

Published April 21st 2015 by Harper Collins

Jay Crownover’s New York Times and USA Today bestsellingMarked Men series continues with the much anticipated story of southern charmer and certified criminal Asa Cross. Berlin 1948. Almost four years after the war's end, the city is still in ruins, a physical wasteland and a political symbol about to rupture. In the West, a defiant, blockaded city is barely surviving on airlifted supplies; in the East, the heady early days of political reconstruction are being undermined by the murky compromises of the Cold War. Espionage, like the black market, is a fact of life. Even culture has become a battleground, with German intellectuals being lured back from exile to add credibility to the competing sectors. Alex Meier, a young Jewish writer, fled the Nazis for America before the war. But the politics of his youth have now put him in the crosshairs of the McCarthy witch-hunts. Faced with deportation and the loss of his family, he makes a desperate bargain with the fledgling CIA: he will earn his way back to America by acting as their agent in his native Berlin. But almost from the start things go fatally wrong. A kidnapping misfires, an East German agent is killed, and Alex finds himself a wanted man. Worse, he discovers his real assignment is to spy on the woman he left behind, the only woman he has ever loved. Changing sides in Berlin is as easy as crossing a sector border. But where do we draw the lines of our moral boundaries? Betrayal? Survival? Murder? Filled with intrigue, and the moral ambiguity of conflicted loyalties, Joseph Kanon's new novel is a compelling thriller and a love story that brings a shadowy period of history vividly to life.

ebook, 416 pages

Published March 3rd 2015 by Atria Books

Ash (Destined #1)

by Shani Petroff, Darci Manley

Destiny is pre-determined. Black coffee - Name a series that's tough to get into but has hardcore fans

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien it’s an amazing trilogy, but I must say that the reading and the story understanding is really difficult, I only read the first one but I intent to read the rest in a sooner future.

2. Peppermint Mocha - Name a book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of the year

For Christmas festivity nothing better than Harry Potter series, I have read thousand times (It’s not just manner of speak) and every time I read on each time a fall in love over and over again,

3. Hot chocolate - What is your favorite children's book?

You probably won’t know this book series because it was wrote by a Brazilian writer called Monteiro Lobato, these histories are quite popular in here and when I was a kid loved read it.

4. Double shot of espresso - Name a book that kept you on the edge on your seat from start to finish

This part of The Selection trilogy really got into me, I read this one so fast but unfortunate the last one (The One) was a little bit disappointed or I expected more, I don’t know for sure.

5. Starbucks - Name a book that you see everywhere

Whatever you go you will see this book all over in Brazil, the people in here are loving the move and it has motivated them to read the trilogy books. It’s really good and has a lot of adrenaline.

6. That hipster coffee shop - Give a book by an indie author a shout-out

If I say I have never read a Indie book are going to believe in me???? But I choose this on from William Young because it left to me a strong message of how to accept the brutal lost of some so beloved, and how to accept the everything happens for the best, God knows and we must accept and see how we can do better. This helped me a lot.

7. Oops! I accidentally got decaf - Name a book you were expecting more from

The synopsis were really good, it was what motivated me to read Matched from Ally Condie but (big BUT) it was not so good as I expected, but I intent to read the rest of the trilogy, it is on my top 10, I think writer took too much time to arrive on the good part, this got me boring.

8. The perfect blend - Name a book or series that was both bitter and sweet but ultimately satisfying

I really loved this collection, I read one after the other so fast, the history and way it was wrote is unbelievable awesome, so great, so excited and so surprising. The history begins with the arrival of Mr. Bingley to the towns making people of the community agitated , especially the mothers who are eager to marry off their daughters and of course the young ladies too.

With the sweet Mr. Bingley comes an entourage consisting of his two sisters, his brother I low and his best friend Mr. Darcy, who with his rude way displeases everyone but during the story his character will be unveiled.

Lizzie and Darcy don’t get along from the beginning, but gradually over the course of history, you will learn that as in reality the people’s characters are not completely what they show for society but all or most of them live under a mask, so in this way they will be accepted and well regarded by society or take any advantage of the people living in it, as Mr. Wickham.

Is it worthed ????

The story is wonderful, it's worth reading and rereading because in every reading you will discover more about Lizzie and Fitzwilliam, more about human nature and that despite this history was written three centuries ago man and society continue to be what they were, with difference on their way of act but of the same nature.

You will always find a Wickham ready to dodge and use you until you are no longer of useful to him, you will always find a desperate Lydia to marry and be superior to others or even find a foolish and inappropriate woman as Mrs. Bennet.

They are characters that are perpetuated and who are on our living day, just look beyond the romance and star analyzing the brilliance of Austin, I must say I never read works as close to reality and yet so pleasant as the those of Jane Austin.

So I say with my open heart, she's my favorite writer

Buy the way, it is worth you read the hardcover version with illustrations, they are magnificent, I'll leave here a few illustrations for you to fall in love.

I hope you enjoyed

Thank you for having read until here

Leave your comments

Follow the news through social networks

Divergent - Veronica Roth

Hello guys! With this discovery, she embarks on a retrospective look at the literary ladies—the characters and the writers—whom she has loved since childhood. From early obsessions with the March sisters to her later idolization of Sylvia Plath, Ellis evaluates how her heroines stack up today. And, just as she excavates the stories of her favorite characters, Ellis also shares a frank, often humorous account of her own life growing up in a tight-knit Iraqi Jewish community in London. Here a life-long reader explores how heroines shape all our lives.

4. The whole family--their two daughters and two sons, their grandchildren, even their faithful old dog--is on the porch, listening contentedly as Abby tells the tale they have heard so many times before. And yet this gathering is different too: Abby and Red are growing older, and decisions must be made about how best to look after them, and the fate of the house so lovingly built by Red's father. Brimming with the luminous insight, humor, and compassion that are Anne Tyler's hallmarks, this capacious novel takes us across three generations of the Whitshanks, their shared stories and long-held secrets, all the unguarded and richly lived moments that combine to define who and what they are as a family.

17. The image of the Shhh…, maintainer organ of this dictatorial system, pass to the society that the virus Amor Deliria Nervosa is extremely danger, highly contagious and which could destroy everyone’s life of those that are around of whose is “contaminated”.

As punishment they debase economic and socially the families of those who had a family member that was infected for this “virus” and that shhh… has to anticipate the treatment or sending the contaminated one to the crypts (awful prison). Thus the responsibility for financially raising will depend of the way the family is able to control your relatives, especially the teenagers.

Although, what they don’t divulge are the massacre caused for them to those who rebelled to the new system, whit the use of bombs of high power and troops sent to destroy houses an kill everyone who rebelled against the new order.

Otherwise, the schools teach for kid that the purification was volunteer and the destruction images they see on class were caused by tribal’s fight between the not healed, and that the world outside the wall is too danger and they can’t predict what could happen in there because they would be surround of infected people.

The writer also shows us the diversity of consequences that his virus treatment could bring to people. We have two extremes one on Fred Hargrove character that demonstrate a complete lack of felling and affection for a living creature, a certain sociopathy and Annabel Haloway despite several attempts and the use of different methods that resulted in nothing on her, so this way they sent her to the crypts for being judged inappropriate to live among the society.

But these facts are mostly hidden from society and our character in question, in view of it at the beginning of Delirium is that society in which she lives is perfect and she longs for the day when she is going to be paired with a young man and will be free of risk of contracting Deliria.

But as it is a novel, Alex Sheathes appears in her life and show her how mucky is the community in which she lives and how ignorant of information people who live in there are, as they are manipulated by politicians.

Magdalene undergoing major changes as a person, will leave a bell jar to begin to face reality as it really is. In this quest for survival it acquires more knowledge about how wrong was your perspective and that people should have the right to choose to love and think for themselves.

Unlike other books that focus more internal struggles of the main character, this saga can bring an overview of everything from the war that is going on until the novels that will develop and mysteries about the life of Lena that are being unrevealed

Is it worth?????

Yes, It’s very worth it!

Although the first book is slower due to the author explain the social dynamics, it is very enjoyable and engaging reading this collection.
